She’s just released her first single in three years, Daddy, and Tulisa Contostavlos has now claimed the reason for the delay in her music career is due to her work on ITV’s X Factor.
The 30-year-old – who worked as a judge on the family-friendly reality show from 2011 to 2012 – says she had to fit a mould on the show, which affected the type of artist she wanted to be.
Speaking in an interview, she explained: ‘On a family show, you have to keep up appearances, and fit into a mould. I definitely adapted myself a lot and played a version of myself for a long time.’
Despite her success on the show – she won in 2011 with Little Mix – she revealed she was happy to move on from the talent show, so that she could relaunch her music after rising to fame with group N-Dubz.
‘This is the Tulisa that would have come out as a solo artist straight off of N-Dubz. Take X Factor out of the equation and this is the kind of artist I would always be,’ she added to NME magazine.
Tulisa’s bold statement comes as she released her new hit Daddy, a cover of 90s hit Sweet Like Chocolate.
She has signed a new record deal with Xploded Music and wrote and produced the song with David Lucas.
This week, she kept her fans patiently waiting for the new hit, as she teased them with her new pink hair on Instagram.
‘Hang tight… it’s coming,’ she told her 485k followers, alongside an image of her barbie locks.
Speaking of her return to the music scene, Tulisa explained: ‘I took some time out of the spotlight to refocus on what is important to me, and that’s music.’

In fact the whole Sandiford clan had! The family starred in Talk Talk’s This Stuff Matters campaign, as well as the brand’s 2017 Christmas advert.
The fly on the wall style commercial featured the family at Christmas time, with their entire festive period being filmed the previous year and condensed into 60 seconds for the candid ad.
Pete was also the face of the brand’s billboards, something he proudly showed off on his Instagram profile!
Taking to Instagram, the Dancing On Ice star, 38, shared footage as she spent the day filming the opening titles to the ITV docu-series.
Sporting a mega glamorous, sparkly dress and donning a pair of stiletto heels, the Essex native posed confidently for the cameras during the shoot, while penning an exciting caption to her 1.3 million followers.

Filming the crew as they set up a treadmill in front of a green screen, Gem hilariously joked: ‘So because I’m trying to lose weight at the minute everywhere I go I have my team bring a tread mill in on set…Oh yes I do. I am the queen of divas.’
The former car dealer later shared a snippet as she stepped onto the treadmill, decked out in her over-the-top outfit, complete with a pair of super high heels.
Gem continued: ‘Just getting on the treadmill in sequins…this is what you do when you’re a diva guys. You have them all on hand with the treadmill to pretty much do most of it for you.’

It has been revealed that an unexpected telly star is set to join the Strictly Come Dancing team.
During Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 breakfast show this morning, the It Takes Two presenter revealed that Rylan Clark-Neal has been hired to join her as a co-host on the Strictly spin off, when the competition hits our screens again later this year.
Meanwhile the dance contest bosses confirmed the news in the form of a Tweet on the official BBC Strictly Twitter account, writing: ‘Joining Zoe Ball as the co-host of It Takes Two is Rylan! We can’t wait to welcome him to the #Strictly family when the show returns on @BBCTwo in the autumn.’

Cherylhas reportedly packed up her belongings and waved goodbye to the home she shared with former boyfriend Liam Payne, nine months after they called time on their relationship.
The 35-year-old is said to have moved out of the former One Direction star’s Surrey mansion with their two-year-old Bear after buying her own property in Buckinghamshire.
According to reports, Chez will live in the new home with her mum, Joan, who looks after Bear when her daughter is at work.

‘You don’t necessarily need to be in a relationship,’ the Love Made Me Do It singer told The Telegraph’s Stella magazine.
‘I’ve got a friend who has had two children using donors. Not everything has to be conventional.’

Simon Cowell has expanded his family after adding an adorable addition to the line-up.
The X Factor boss has taken in a rescue dog that was in need of a good home after falling in love with the pup during his recent trip to Barbados.
Newest addition Daisy joins Squiddly and Diddly and Freddie – who dog lover Simon adopted when his mother passed away in 2015 – after he pulled out all the stops to bring her back to Blighty.
Sharing some arty black and white photos of his canine family on his official Instagram account, Simon revealed his newest pooch, Daisy.
The caption read: ‘Simon Cowell shares stunning phones of his gorgeous dogs Squiddly, Diddly, Freddie and newest addition Daisy who Simon rescued in Barbados.’
Fans rushed to commend Simon on taking in Daisy, with one commenting on the post, ‘Gorgeous they are beautiful dogs especially daisy .’
Another said: ‘Aaaawww Too Cute .’
Simon is said to have instantly ‘fallen in love’ with the terrier cross after meeting her at an auction for dogs in Barbados last December.
Daisy and her two puppies had been abandoned but were nursed back to health by charity K9.
Simon has made no secret of his love of dogs, even going as far as to admit he has looked into cloning them.
He told The Sun on Sunday: ‘We’ve thoroughly looked into it, got all the details and I can prove to you I’m going to clone them. There is documentation.
‘I am doing it because I cannot bear the thought of them not being around. I might actually do it sooner rather than later, which will mean we have six dogs running around.’
While most of us are just enjoying the gorgeous summer sun that’s hitting the UK at the moment, This Morning star Holly Willoughby has just jetted back from a luxury break in the Maldives.
The presenter and her family, including her three children Harry, 9, Belle, 8, and Chester, 4, and husband Dan, all headed off on an Easter holiday to the sun-soaked country, while Holly has some precious time off work.
And excitingly, the TV star revealed that she happened to bump into one of her celeb pals during the break too!
Holly revealed to her 5.4 million Instagram followers that was surprised to meet Davina McCall on holiday in the Maldives, but that it was lovely to spend some ‘real time’ with her.

Anticipation for the line reached fever pitch after the singer teased fans with a number of sultry photos of her in the bikinis, however, jaws hit the floor when they were finally released and the expensive price tags were revealed.
At £34 for the bikini bottoms and another £40 for the top, some fans say they are being priced out – despite loving how it looks.
One disappointed follower said: ‘I’m really proud of you but almost none of us can afford like £80 for a bikini.’

One moaned: ‘Happy for you, but i expected more…. especially when it came to sizing, all this promo made it seem like super size inclusive brand and it’s far from that.’
And another complained: ‘Is it payed separately for the top and bottom? The website is quite confusing to me because it’s saying £34 for just the bottoms, and that seems a bit out of my price range.’
Speaking of her new venture, Leigh-Anne admitted it was a dream finally come true.
‘I’ve wanted my own fashion brand for a long time now, and to see it finally released is beyond a dream come true,’ she said.
‘We’ve built this brand to promote self love and confidence and we want everyone who wears In’A’Seashell to feel sexy, empowered and obsessed with the skin they’re in.
‘I set up In’A’Seashell with my best friend Gabby. To create my own swimwear brand with such a good friend has been amazing.’

When does Love Island start?

‘That is really exciting and mad that it’s come around this quick, so I’ll let you know what happens. It’s going to be a long, hot summer and all that.’

It’s good news for Love Island fans, because a new episode of the programme usually airs every evening at 9pm.

How long is Love Island on for?
Luckily for us, Love Island keeps getting longer and longer each year. So, we’re kinda hoping it lasts a full 365 days this time round…
Series one was five and a bit weeks, while the second series ran for six weeks and series three lasted for seven weeks.
But last year was it’s longest run yet as the stars stayed in the luxury villa for eight whole weeks. It’s most likely that the 2019 series will also be on for a total of eight weeks – but we hope for nine!
Who presents Love Island?
The presenter of Love Island has always been Caroline Flack and we don’t see that changing anytime soon.
Caroline interviews the dumped islanders in their post-exit interviews and pops up to make some unexpected appearances and announce the latest twists.
The 39-year-old also heads up the spin-off show Love Island Aftersun, which is usually broadcast after each episode of the main show and sees celebrity panelists chatting about the latest villa happenings.
Last year, Caroline went through a tough break-up with former fiancé Andrew Brady while filming the final few episodes, so let’s hope she’s back on her best form this time around.

Friends of Strictly Come Dancing winner Stacey Dooley have reportedly urged her to cool off the alleged romance with dance partner Kevin Clifton as they fear the scandal surrounding the fling could damage her career.
Investigative journalist Stacey, 32, and her dancing pro co-star Kevin hit headlines recently after romance allegedly sparked between the duo during their winning sting on the BBC dancing competition.

Pro dancer Kevin Clifton paid a sweet tribute to his former Strictly Come Dancing partner Stacey Dooley during an on-stage performance recently.
The 36-year-old shared a speech with the audience during the opening night of Burn the Floor, where he also reflected on his difficult personal relationships in the past.
Kevin has been divorced three times – most recently, from his fellow Strictly dancer Karen Clifton, with the pair announcing their separation a few years ago.
In the speech, Kevin admitted that he’s struggled with ‘upheaval’ in his personal life.
He told the audience at the live show: ‘In the last couple of years I’ve seen massive upheaval in my personal life and it hasn’t always been easy.
‘There have been a lot of things thrown at me. At times I’ve struggled. And the times I’ve struggled and I was in a bit of a rut I didn’t know what to do.’
The popular dancer also went on to pay tribute to journalist Stacey Dooley, for helping him to finally take home the Strictly glitterball.
In a touching speech, he said: ‘And thanks to Miss Stacey Dooley, I can finally say I’m the Strictly champion after six years of trying. It’s a miracle.’
The adorbs message of course comes amid rumours of a romance between Stacey and Kevin – after Stacey’s ex, Sam Tucknott, claimed that the TV star had ended their five-year relationship to be with Kevin.
In an explosive interview, Sam claimed that he had spied texts from Kevin on Stacey’s phone.

This Morning star Holly Willoughby has claimed that Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan is ‘trying to kill her’ in a hilarious social media video taken from her dressing room.
The 38-year-old telly presenter, took to Instagram to share the snippet in which she can be seen holding a rather weird looking hair dryer, with a scarily lifelike Piers Morgan dummy attached.
Flashing a confused expression at the camera, Holly can be heard saying: ‘Erm… I think Piers Morgan is trying to kill me. There is smoke coming out the back of this.’
Waving the bizarre contraption and flicking the switch to turn the hair dryer on, the presenter joked: ‘I mean, he really is full of hot air.’
Unable to hide her bewilderment, Holly added: ‘Erm, thanks for this,’ before hilariously declaring: ‘Oh my God, it stinks!’
The Dancing On Ice front-woman also posted a snapshot as she posed with the Piers replica, alongside the witty words: ‘#gifted #unwanted #heateddebate …. photo taken shortly before @piersmorgan tried to kill me.
